ROMERO CUE
THE BEGINNING
ROMERO CUE
Willy's Pool Hall was the genesis of Little Al Romeros' love of playing pool. Little Al's older brother, Willy, came back from The Second World War with big ideas and a big dream of his own pool hall. With a GI Bill, and a tremendous amount of passion, Little Al Romero and his older brother, Willy, started digging and laying out the foundation of the pool hall, which included a cellar. The following year the walls were standing and the tables assembled, all by Al and his brother. Willy's Pool Hall Espanola New Mexico 1950 opened. Willy's 1950 DeSoto was parked outside the pool hall and Al ran the front counter. Willy was busy playing cards on a pool table that was in the cellar. Upstairs Al Romero spent his time running the pool hall and practing pool which became a life long passion.
